Snapshots

I have been crazy busy the last couple days with holiday and Christmas fun so I figured I would give you a quick recap of the Christmas I had.  It was such a joy to spend so much time with those I love so dearly and I feel so blessed this Christmas.  I tried to cling to every moment that passed because thinking back of everything that happened this past year, it truly is scary how fast someone can be taken from you.

Here’s a glimpse of my last few days…

The dog was pretty much the star of the show since neither family has kids in it…yet!

It was such an incredible Christmas!  Hope you all had a great holiday season with your friends and family too!

If this isn’t enough pictures for you, tomorrow will be pictures from the ugly Christmas sweater party that we attended earlier this month (how did I forget to post these?!?!).

Coral Crush

It’s negative five degrees out.  That’s not even a number in my humble opinion.  I was going to do a bathroom post about the plans for the one I’m redoing soon but a negative five degree day calls for something more…something that reminds us of spring.  Something that has everything to do with the lovely coral color that is becoming oh so popular in the fashion industry!

Such a cute relaxed outfit for the spring or summer!
Talk about an elegant looking dining room, it’s gorgeous!
If I had the money, these would SO be mine!
What a fun color in the bathroom!  I never would have thought of coral in a bathroom but it really compliments the white!
What a stunning bag…eye catching and big enough!  I have to keep telling myself no…
So remember way back when I told you all I wasn’t going to buy anything clothes or shoes or fashion related until February?  And then I cheated and bought myself a sweater and a pair of boots?  I have to confess that I cheated again and bought three swimsuits and two tops FOR THE HONEYMOON and a dress and a pair of earrings with its necklace FOR THE WEDDING REHEARSAL.  I know that even though I think my excuses are decent ones, I still bought stuff.  Overall though, I think I’ve really done a good job of sticking to my plan and thinking twice before I buy things.
February is only in twelve days though.  And it makes me nervous because I will subconsciously know that my time has ended for not buying shoes, clothes, or anything fashion related.  I thought about extending this just a bit further but when I see bags like that coral one above, I want to think “The heck with it!” and press purchase on the computer as fast as my fingertips will let me.  I hope it doesn’t happen.  Or if it has to happen (you know how things are), I hope I can regain my self control when I get back from my trip and set another “don’t buy clothes” goal.  That’s not a bad idea actually.  FEbruary could probably do me more damage than I could imagine so might as well just stick to one month and jump back on the bandwagon!
Which coral pieces are your favorite?

Feel Good Friday

I’m sorry I didn’t post the past two days all!  Things have been crazy busy and I haven’t gotten around to a computer much.  Here’s a little snow love to end your week.  And speaking of snow, we finally got it on Thursday apparently!  Happy weekend <3

The First Day of Winter (yesterday…)

The Christmas sweater I wore to the party.  Who wouldn’t want to show it off?!?!  It’s so classy!

Yesterday was the first day of winter and I missed it.  I MISSED IT!  I’ve slipped the last two days in posts because everything has been so busy lately but I’m making it up to you now.  Today.  With three post Thursday!  Let’s hope this doesn’t become a regular thing.

So yesterday was the first day of winter and what a great day it was!  A few little snowflakes and a Christmas Sweater/White Elephant Party concluded the evening making it such a blast.  In celebration of the first day of winter, I’m sharing my favorite things about winter with you!  I’m sure those of you who live in colder temperatures can appreciate this!
1.  Cooking in the Crock Pot
2.  Snowboarding
3.  Movie Marathons
4.  Reading by the Fireplace
5.  Watching the snow fall from inside
6.  Tubing
7.  Building a Snowman
8.  Discovering magical snow hidden places
9.  Not rushing because everything looks like a snowglobe fairytale and you want to take in the moment
10.  See the ice sculptures in Lake Geneva

Step Into Christmas, The Admission’s Free

I’m sitting here surfing the web and envy is filling me.  It’s terrible.  It’s the Christmas season and I should be grateful for what I have right?  But look at all these drool-over-worthy living rooms and all the gorgeous holiday decorations and try to find what all of these rooms have in common.  Ready?  Go…

Did you figure out what the ”same thing” is in every picture?  Aside from the fact that they’re all gorgeous and I want to be tucked into all of those chairs in the pictures?
They all have FIREPLACES!!!  Beautiful hot steamy fireplaces.  Something my house definitely does not have.  And I miss it a ton.  I used to fall asleep on the ground in front of the fireplace at my parents house.  I can’t do that anymore.  I’ve decided the next house will have two fireplaces, even if I have to smash the wall in myself.

First Flakes of the Year

We saw our first flakes of the year on Thursday!  It wasn’t enough to stick at all but that’s alright…we’ll have more than our fair share of that come December.  I know some people aren’t ready for this but seeing the snow made it feel like magical winter.  I’m not ready for it either but I know it’s coming so bring it on!!

Not the best picture because I was in the break room at work but I know you see those flakeys!
