Snapshots

I have been crazy busy the last couple days with holiday and Christmas fun so I figured I would give you a quick recap of the Christmas I had.  It was such a joy to spend so much time with those I love so dearly and I feel so blessed this Christmas.  I tried to cling to every moment that passed because thinking back of everything that happened this past year, it truly is scary how fast someone can be taken from you.

Here’s a glimpse of my last few days…

The dog was pretty much the star of the show since neither family has kids in it…yet!

It was such an incredible Christmas!  Hope you all had a great holiday season with your friends and family too!

If this isn’t enough pictures for you, tomorrow will be pictures from the ugly Christmas sweater party that we attended earlier this month (how did I forget to post these?!?!).

Home For the Holidays

You know those days when the snow is falling outside your window and there is frost around the edges…you’re sipping hot cocoa out of a coffee cup that has elves dancing around it and the only light in the room is from the Christmas tree. Yeah, you know what I’m talking about. Those make the very best days to curl up under the softest blanket you can find and pop in one of these Christmas movies. It’s bound to make your heart smile and to be thanking the bright stars above for all the blessings God has given you this year. There are a ton of great Christmas movies out there but these definitely fall into my Top Ten.

10 Things (Not Things But Cookies!!!) Sunday

Tis the season to gain 10 pounds (or more) with Christmas cookies everywhere in sight!  Let me help you with that as if you need help.  These cookies I scouted out on the web and they are surely on my Christmas cookie list this season!

Gift Guide Extravaganza

Anyone who reads blogs knows the blog-o-sphere is swarming with gift giving guides. I’m not even going to try to compete with it. I figured if there are blogs way bigger than mine that are putting these together, I’m not going to try to compete because someone somewhere out there probably already used any or all of my ideas.

Instead I’ve grabbed some pages from the To & From, Magazine and put together a collection of multiple gift giving guides from all of my favorite bloggers out there. These women know what they’re talking about when it comes to putting a smile on a loved one’s face through a gift. Without further ado, here we go!

Thankful

Today and everyday I have so much to be thankful for.

I have a husband who I love and trust with my whole heart.

I have a family who I wouldn’t trade for the world.

I have friends that might as well be considered family too because I wouldn’t be anything without them.

I have my health and all of my family is healthy (which means a lot more this year than it ever has before).

I have the right to vote and exercised that right this year with the election.

I have a table filled with warm food.

I have God in my life.

I have this blog where I share my thoughts, recipes, and creations (and you guys sometimes read it!).

I have a beautiful blogger friend that let me sponsor her this month.  Her blog is absolutely terrific.  I also have another wonderful (soon to be wife) blogger friend that I am sponsoring next month and can’t wait to see what lies ahead of me in the future!

I am thankful for hot chocolate, Christmas music and decorations, outside lights, and puppy sweaters.

Happy Thanksgiving friends!

This Day

On this glorious extra day off, let’s not forget the real reason.  Happy Labor Day everyone!  And welcome September.  I have big plans for you!

Tasty Tuesday Fourth of July Style

Anyone else so so excited for July to be here? I know I am because the Fourth is one of my favorite holidays but doesn’t it seem like after the Fourth of July the summer just flies by?   Yeesh.  Make sure you make the most of it!

In honor of the Fourth of July being tomorrow, today I’m sharing two terrific things I made to bring to the cookout tomorrow.  They’re easy and festive and can put a smile on most people’s everyones faces!

Ingredients
Strawberries
Blueberries
Bananas
Skewers
Directions (really don’t think I need to add this part since a monkey could make these)
1.  Stab fruit on skewers
2.  Make into pretty American Flag
Ingredients
Pretzel Rods
White Chocolate
Milk Chocolate
Sprinkles
Directions (again…necessary?)
1.  Melt chocolate
2.  Dip pretzel into chocolate
3.  Dip chocolate pretzel into sprinkles
4.  When you’re done, store in refridgerator until ready to serve
I am not going to be serving either treat on the cookie sheets that they are currently on (how boring would that be) so I’ll make sure to take pictures of my creative display of how the final look is!  Hope this gives you a little inspiration to start whipping something together that’s quick and easy for tomorrow!

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day to all of the wonderful dads out there!  I’m so blessed to have the dad that I do.  He has taught me so much about love, life, and the struggles making you stronger with time.  Thanks dad for being the most supportive and loving dad a girl could ask for!

Happy Memorial Day!

I couldn’t help but put this youtube video up.  It’s one of those that you don’t want to blink during because you know the river of tears is going to start streaming down your face.  Thank you for all who serve and for everything you do.  We love you!
