Silence

untitled

Today isn’t about me. Today isn’t about you. Today isn’t about my friends or family.
Today is about those whose lives were lost on Friday.
It’s about those that will never be forgotten.
We see their precious faces on the news now.
But we are not experiencing what those parents and family are feeling.
We aren’t seeing the gifts wrapped underneath the tree.
We aren’t smelling the shampoos sitting in the bathtub next to their little pajamas.
We aren’t having to fold their little clothes one last time.
Their little beds still unmade from last Friday when they rushed out the door to get to school on time.
A sibling without their friend.
A dog without their pal.
A mother without her baby.
A father without his little one.
A child without her mother.

They are now angels watching down on us.
And hearts are shattered forever.
