Halloween Chex Mix

Let’s rewind a day and pretend I didn’t miss the actual October 31st shall we?

Happy Halloween!

To celebrate, I wanted to share with you all the delicious Halloween Mix I made for my co-workers and Mr. C.’s co-workers last week!

I love to make holiday treats but I wanted to find something that you could snack on rather than just have four bites and it’s gone.  Even though there are some REALLY cute cookies and cupcakes out there for Halloween, this mix was what grabbed me.  Plus as you all know I’m sure by now, I am a big sweets fan so when someone tells me to layer melted chocolate over a assortment of deliciousness, I’m all for it.

I’ve never tried Chex with white chocolate before but I was definitely pleased with how they tasted in combination with the pretzels.  I felt like I was introducing sweet and salty together…hello sugar!

Nothing says Halloween like putting this yummy mix in some uber cute Halloween inspired cupcake liners too!

And because I am posting this Halloween recipe a day late, I thought I’d make it up for you with a Halloween joke.

Why couldn’t the ghost see its mom and dad?
Because they were trans-parents!

Haha…little lame but you know you laughed.  Even if it was just on the inside.

Halloween Chex Mix

Makes about 18 servings (depending on if you use cupcake liners or not)

Ingredients

8 ounce white chocolate baking bars, coarsely chopped

4 cups Corn Chex or Rice Chex cereal

2 cups bite-size pretzel twists

1/2 cup raisins

1 cup candy corn

Directions

In a large microwavable bowl, microwave chopped baking bars uncovered on High 1 to 2 minutes, stirring ever 30 seconds or so, until melted and smooth.

Gently stir in cereal, pretzels, and raisins until evenly coated.  Stir in candy corn.

Spread on waxed paper or foil until cooled and chocolate is set.  Break into chunks.  Store in an air tight container.

  1. mmmm this looks so good! I love all the goodies inside – the white choc, the candy corn (!!) and especially the raisins! I love chex mixes with raisins in them. I’m saving this recipe :)
